We never came into contact with another person during our 3-night cabin getaway thanks to contactless check-in and check-out. We received our keycode to access our mini cabin just before check-in. If we needed anything (which we did not since they provided everything we needed), we could just text or email Getaway House and a staff member would respond.
Notes on Nature
This is an example of what you’ll receive, with tips on local hiking trails, grocery stores, and restaurants. Some cabins have a limited water supply of about 150 gallons. Guests have to wait for 30 minutes between uses for the regeneration of hot water. Currently, stressed-out New Yorkers can book a tiny house two hours north of the city in the Catskills. (Recently, the company added a new "Catskills East" site.) It’s possible to get there using Amtrak and a 20-minute cab ride, but renting a car will probably cost you less money. Once you arrive at your cabin, you enter a passcode you’ve been given in advance and enter your tiny home away from home.

Strong overtime protections help build America’s middle class and ensure that workers are not overworked and underpaid. The Three Keys list is rounded out with various hotels in California. The Firmdale hotels, on the other hand, are "a quintessential example of the style and execution of the group’s co-owner and interior designer, Kit Kemp." Crossroads Brewing Company, 201 Water Street Catskill, NY To enjoy a pint of beer or a glass of wine on the bank of the Catskill creek, head to the Crossroads Brewing Company’s Taproom. To create a climate-conscious and aesthetically pleasing hotel that remained true to Bauhaus’s functional and minimalist roots. The Three Key distinction is the highest hotel honor in The MICHELIN Guide.
If you need any food or supplies, there’s a Price Chopper grocery store about 10 minutes away. In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, finding a serene escape that allows us to reconnect with nature and disconnect from the digital world has become a rare treasure. If you’re on social media, you’ve probably seen pictures of someone relaxing in a Getaway House, dreamily staring out the large picture window into the quiet, peaceful forest.
Do they have accessible cabins?
Nestled in nature these cabins are designed to be socially distant and are the ultimate escape in the COVID stricken world. Ulster Park's Headless Horseman Haunted Hayrides and Haunted Houses is back for 2023 with plenty of terrifying attractions. There's the classic hayride, a hauting walking trail, a corn maze and several haunted houses. I also wish there was a tarp or some sort of awning that could half-cover the fire pit so you could sit outside in the rain. Otherwise, it was definitely a memorable experience that allowed us to escape city life, and that I would recommend for 1 to 2 people max (and maybe a small dog or two).

Fire wood and fire starters are available for purchase for $6.50 and $2, respectively. This 2.5-mile, dog-friendly hike can get a bit steep and rocky, but the stunning waterfall views are certainly worth the climb. Getaway makes a full refund of the deposit for cancellations made up to 15 days before the reservation.

Then choose outpost and fill in the number of guests, no of beds, Check-in & Check-out details, availability of cabins, and pay. Getaway outposts in Eastern-Catskills, Western-Catskills, and Machimoodus offer more than physical distant space in nature. They welcome the guests to serene surroundings with fresh air. The DNA of these outposts is the private and solitary experience amidst nature and it enhances the physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. Getaway House invites you to serenity and solitude with their Eastern-Catskills, Western-Catskills, and Machimoodus outposts.
But all the effort is totally worth it when you reach the gorgeous waterfall. Their Outposts are designed to be more than a destination, but a way to create distance from the relentless demands of work, schedules, and technology. They want their guests to experience unscheduled, unstructured, and uninterrupted free time — not just for rest and rejuvenation, but to foster inspiration, creativity, and connection. Getaway’s founder, Jon Staff, grew up in rural Minnesota with most of his childhood spent outdoors. On the heels of a demanding startup job, Jon found himself burned out and longing for the role nature played in his youth.
Getaways in the Catskills offer many adventures in the great outdoors. Although many people come to the Catskills cabins for New York City breaks and to simply relax, we wanted to do some exploring. Getaway House New York provided us with a map and guide showing things to do nearby, from hiking and sightseeing to shopping. They also provided information about where to get groceries and provisions, although we brought everything we needed from home.
Yes, all of our Outposts feature a collection of cabins. We work hard to make sure each cabin has its own space, but expect to see other cabins on the land. Cabins are scattered throughout our Outposts, but you’ll be near your neighbors. Please keep your music + voices down, so everyone can enjoy the peace and quiet. I’m the kind of person who is just as happy in a tent sleeping on the ground in the middle of the woods as I am in a luxury resort.
Even though the cabin had everything we needed for the weekend, my friend and I still brought a few bottles of wine to enjoy with our snacks. Getaway will also send you camping jams on Spotify to complete the vibe. In each Getaway House, there is a large, cozy queen-sized bed. If you book a four-person cabin, two queen beds will be lofted into bunk beds. Our cabin also had complimentary individual packets of olive oil, salt, pepper, sugar, and coffee creamer. We brought plenty of food for our visit, but there are also food items for purchase including oatmeal, pasta, tea, coffee, and soup.
One of the basic principles of the American workplace is that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. A cornerstone of that promise is the Fair Labor Standards Act’s (FLSA) requirement that when most workers work more than 40 hours in a week, they get paid more. The Department of Labor’s new overtime regulation is restoring and extending this promise for millions more lower-paid salaried workers in the U.S.
Another reason I love the Getaway cabins is that a large window provides much natural light. Even though it’s a little space, it’s the perfect place to enjoy all the beautiful forest views, something you don’t get much of in a major city. Even though these cabins are tiny homes, they are perfect for romantic getaways, a girl’s trip, solo escapes and a relaxing family getaway in Upstate New York. I loved the fresh smell of the wood from the interior and the cabin’s design, which was created by the Getaway team.
After launching in Boston, the company has now expanded to more than 10 locations across the country. It’s usually from $150 (weekdays) to $300 (weekends) per night to stay at one of these tiny houses in the woods, but when they first open new locations they offer discounted nights. The Getaway House in New York makes tiny house living easy. There is everything you need to enjoy the great outdoors. There is also a hot shower, fire pit, comfortable queen bed, outdoor picnic table, mini kitchen, small living room, private bathroom, mini refrigerator, small table, drinkable water and more.
